Provide Behavioral Health services to clients with emotional, psychological and addiction disorders. Services provided include: conducting biopsychosocial assessments, completing diagnostic evaluations, developing treatment plans, providing psychotherapy, documenting and monitoring client progress, providing community resources and referrals, offering psychoeducation, conducting evaluations/risk assessments, utilizing crisis management, and preparing discharge summaries.
Knowledge of human behavior and performance; individual differences in ability, personality, and interests; learning and motivation; psychological research methods; and the assessment and treatment of behavioral and affective disorders

Knowledge of principles, methods, and procedures for diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of mental dysfunctions
Knowledge of group behavior and dynamics, societal trends and influences, human migrations, ethnicity, cultures and their history and origins
Applies developmentally appropriate therapeutic interventions, advanced psychosocial theory and methods to individuals and families based upon comprehension of the complexity of presenting problems
Write progress notes and maintain other documents as required by regulations
Remain current with best practices
Assist with the ongoing support of program evaluation to assess the strengths of the mental health services provided and to identify areas for growth
Monitor for and intervene in crisis situations
Co-ordinate care with other clinic staff
Participate in peer consultations, staff meetings, and continuing education
Facilitate referrals to appropriate internal and/or external resources where indicated
Participate in agency-wide and departmental therapeutic research
Maintain a consistent caseload
Meet standards of record keeping and documentation to maintain compliance with state, federal, and NUIHC guidelines
Minimum of master's degree in counseling, social work, or related behavioral
health field from an accredited college or university
Nebraska licenses required to practice as a social worker/ mental health practitioner or drug and alcohol counselor
Valid Driver's License

Pass background checks on criminal history, employment eligibility, child abuse registry, adult abuse registry, sex offender registry, and employment verification
Work inside a climate- controlled facility
Tolerate a moderate noise level
Available to work evenings, weekends, and overnight; travel as needed
Comfortable with prolonged sitting, standing or bending, and lifting up to 30 pounds Requirements
Hearing: Adequate to perform job duties in person and over the phone
Speaking: Must be able to communicate clearly in English in person and over the phone.
Vision: Visual acuity adequate to perform job duties, including reading information from printed sources and computer screens
